How this works
You pick the restaurant
Choose from the lineup, or name a restaurant and we'll ask them. Your name and an email are the only other things we need, so the form takes about a minute.
We get the quote
Someone from Pool takes your request to the restaurant, works out the price with them and sends you their quote.
You pay the restaurant
They take the payment and give you the receipt.
If you know the date and the headcount, add them and the quote comes back faster. If you do not, we ask in the reply.
A person reads every request and takes it to the restaurant, so the quote takes a little while. Send yours as early as you can, with a date you can still move.

On campus, it arrives as a drop-off
The restaurant brings the food and leaves. We ask for that on every on-campus order. Off campus, someone can stay and set it up, and the form asks which you want.
Your group has its own funding, booking and food rules. Check those with your advisor before you commit to a date.

- Do I need a date and a headcount before I ask?
- No. A restaurant, your name and an email are enough to start. A date and a headcount make the quote faster, and if you leave them out we ask for them in the reply.
- Our budget is under $250. Is it still worth asking?
- Yes. The Nando's PERi-PERi discount starts at $250 of food, and under that we still get you the quote at menu price. Every other restaurant on the form quotes on its own terms.
- Who do I pay?
- The restaurant, directly. They take the payment and give you the receipt. Pool gets you the quote.
- Which restaurant will cater my event, and what is the deal?

- Is Pool connected to the University?
- No. Pool is an independent student-built service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the University of Chicago. Pool is not a University vendor. Ask your advisor whether a restaurant receipt can be reimbursed. Your own funding rules still apply.
